“Regina Alba”

The starting point for this series was the white queen of chess — not as a character to recreate, but as an idea to interpret.

Each woman was given the same fabric, yet it never became the same thing twice. It could be a veil, a crown, a shield or something almost revealing. Some disappeared behind it, while others seemed to use it to become even more present.

That contrast became the part that interested me most. The queen may be shared, but the identity she takes on belongs entirely to the person in front of the camera.
