“Figurines”

These figures feel as though they belong to dreams I would rather not have.

They are exposed, yet strangely anonymous. Faces disappear behind lace, masks, fabric and unfamiliar shapes, while the body remains present — sometimes vulnerable, sometimes confrontational. What began as portraits gradually became something less recognisable: characters without a story, appearing briefly from somewhere darker.

I think of them as figurines from an unpleasant dream — carefully arranged, oddly beautiful, and just familiar enough to make their presence unsettling.
